Hello World. You’ve changed, and we’re not sure what to make of it. Here at the Ropeadope office we’ve scrambled to insure the safety and health of our staff, interns, and our community of artists as best we can, as we all face uncertainty and yes, fear, in this new paradigm. First, we all want to send you love and the most sincere wish that you are healthy and safe as well. As we face an uncertain future, we are all self isolated and working each day to do what we can. Our artists, who have lost the ability to tour overnight, are doing the same and remain committed to their role in translating human suffering to beauty in the form of music.
Tonight, Friday March 20, starting at midnight PT (UTC-7), Bandcamp is waiving their fees on all purchases in artist stores for 24 hours. As you may know, Bandcamp also allows fans to pay more for downloads or merchandise if you choose to support the artist further than the asking price. To add to Bandcamp’s support, Ropeadope and our friends at Chant Records have agreed that on this day, 100% of any additional revenue (less credit card fees) over the regular price will be paid directly to artists. This gives you the opportunity to send direct support to artists in time of need.
