One of the finest bands ever, often forgotten and then sorely missed. One track on this record begins with a noticeable scratch, perhaps the first time an artist used the technique?

I must have heard this track in the late 80's, because it always reminds me of West Philly. Can't say why I like it, just feels right I guess. If you want to know bluegrass, you cannot avoid The Seldom Scene.

About louis

louis

I grew up somewhat oblivious to the fact that I was living through one of the greatest periods in music history. Somehow I managed to navigate away from pop culture at every turn. My musical interests cycle through various genres, but I am a sucker for good lyrics. I think 'The Basement Tapes' is the single most important record in popular music history.
I believe the music coming out now is the most exciting music since the early sixties, and that the coming music renaissance will define the next 40 years.
Why Reno? I can't recall.
