RoSaway
Rosaway is a Paris-based singer who blends neo-disco and jazz, creating a unique fusion of 70's vibes and contemporary pop-groove.
Her permeating, distinctive voice carves forward a path from the footsteps of singers such as Whitney Houston and Etta James, while her mastery of the flute brings the foundations of classical music into a fresh context for modern audiences. Add in a spectrum of electro-acoustic effects and experimentation for good measure, and RoSaWay crafts a sound that is all her own, one celebrating the past, present, and future.
“The care given to image and sound shows an artistic maturity, a taste for innovation associated with an innate sense of melody and arrangements," - Rolling Stone
GIRL(S) is a tribute. A tribute to women. To those we see, to those we sense, to those made invisible, to those we prefer to forget, to our friends, to our enemies, to our heroines...With its uptempo tracks, vintage synths, ethereal choir textures, and effective hooks, 'GIRL(S)' revisits and modernizes the conventions of the great disco albums of the late 70s. With this new album, like a collection of short stories reminiscent of the tales our mothers and grandmothers used to read to us, Rosaway paints ten brief stories of women. Women in love, disappointed, free, tormented, powerful, evolving... Like the facets of a disco ball, these women are both unique and integral parts of a whole: a sisterhood that converges the destinies of women.
But perhaps, in this album, Rosaway tells her own story and yours too because, in the end, "GIRL(S)" is a tale of women to be shared with all men...
