About the Artist
Formed in November 2004, To Be a High Powered Executive… began its career playing various venues in Cleveland, Ohio. Originally titled: To Be a High Powered Executive You Need To Be Good At Math, the five Cleveland Institute of Art graduates began as a simple post-rock band. After a four-month hiatus, they reformed as To be a High Powered Executive… an instrumental rock band that found a dream and captured it in its slovenly jowls.
Now, over two and a half years later, their sound has expanded to include songs ranging from three-minute math-pop blasts to ten minute-plus space operas. Psychedelic games of “find the magical tree-giver without losing the melody” have led the five-piece to their debut LP We Don’t Want it Safe, We Want it Secret. Their journey continues, but their strength requires the gentle ears of a listener. Come join us…
