About the Artist
A project born of the studio, the BurnDown All-Stars are a Philadelphia based live hip-hop collective featuring the city's finest un-signed musicians and emcees. Beginning in early 2003 with the release of BurnDown Presents Volume 1, The Outside Connect Jawn, the All-Stars slowly took form over the next two years. By early 2005, the present line up had solidified. With an ever-expanding repertoire of songs, performances have matured into an undeniable mix of musicianship, showmanship and lyrical virtuosity.
The current line-up includes Dave Quicks, bandleader andproducer, on guitar and vocals along with long-time Philly stand-outs TomWalling on drums and Rico Joseph on bass. Spitting over this unshakable framework are BurnDown originators andmainstays Kuf the Emcee, Rok Bottom and Carlito Attack, each boasting a uniquestyle and perspective. But thatísonly the beginning. Work also continues in the studio asthe BurnDown emcees focus on a pure hip-hop record while Dave Quicks and theband strike the balance with a rock, soul venture called Dave QuicksíBrainChild.
