File Under: hard hitting acoustic-jazz-trio taking it to the next level with strings and things (think acoustic mmw//brad meldau///bad plus). montreal's wunder-kid david ryshpan mixes his three piece (piano, bass, drums) with strings (violins, cellos, and other little stringy things that make the music melt and drip) and the results are quite hot for this montreal based band..... and the tunes they choose to play will make you swoon and sway - repertoire spanning from Paul Simon to Ornette Coleman, original compositions and standards. their music is influenced by peers and heroes, ranging from the jazz tradition and classical world to the recent developments of rock, soul and electronica.

About the Artist

The Montreal based Indigone Trio plays a striking brand of modern
acoustic jazz, using repertoire spanning from Paul Simon to Ornette
Coleman, original compositions and standards. Since their formation as
a McGill University student group in 2003, the trio has been exploring
and expanding their personal and collective musical visions. As a group
they have accompanied great Canadian saxophonist Kirk MacDonald, and
have performed widely in the Montreal area. They are the only Canadian
student group invited to the 2006 International Association for Jazz
Education Conference. Young and energetic, this group has a compelling
stage presence and brings an innovative approach to contemporary jazz
music.
