Willoughby Greene - Walking Distance
Nick Rosen on keys
With great pleasure we welcome Miami native Nick Rosen to the Ropeadope family. Nick is in demand, playing live or doing session work with the likes of Col. Bruce Hampton, Russell Gunn, Dionne Farris, Jennifer Holliday and more. His debut album, Step Into The Light, is aptly tited as Nick steps out on his own with a little help from guests Terreon Gully, Saunders Sermons, and Oteil Burbridge. The compositions are mysterious and delicate, which is not to say that they don't swing. Step Into The Light right here and support the vision.

Stop The Violence (S.T.V)
Renowned bassist Bill Dickens recorded 'Stop The Violence' on his debut album, Tha Truth, in response to the violence plaguing the streets of Chicago. Fellow musicians have been working on remixes to spread the word across the planet - a project of creation and encouragement to those that are working worldwide for peaceful solutions to our issues. The S.T.V. World Remix project starts today and runs until January 18, 2016. News will soon be out on the first remix, and sites are set up for you to add your comments and photos. Soon we will make the stems from the track available worldwide for anyone to remix or record the track. It's a blank canvas for all of us to express our solidarity and desire for peace, let's see what we can do. Drop in on tumblr, facebook, or google+. Hear the original track here, and stay tuned.

Winter Jazz Fest!
We just got back from a whirlwind weekend in NYC; Todd Clouser and A Love Electric taught The Bowery Electric what rock is really about, while Charlie Hunter and Magda Giannikou took over two thirds of Rockwood Music Hall. Saturday marked two shows from Jellowstone Records artist Butcher Brown, who played both like they were playing to a crowd of thousands. Everyone is talking about the talent, energy, style, and future of this band - and we are not suprised in the least. The icing on the cake for us was seeing downtown NYC with ines down the block to see ... JAZZ. It's on, folks, and we are ready.
