About the Artist
The Henry Millers are a New York based band featuring the boy-girl duo of John MacCallum and Katie Schecter. Their alluring mix of modern synthesizer driven experimentation and pop music reminds the listener of past art collaborations that can only happen in New York.
John MacCallum: bandleader, fashionably self deprecating songwriter, lead singer and guitarist was born and raised in New York. Katie Schecter: John’s female counterpart, singer, magnetic smile and keeper of the dreams. John and Katie knew each other for years before they decided to start recording music together, allowing a wonderful friendship to develop into beautiful musical partnership. Katie’s unique voice has a character that helps set the music apart from other bands and her combined leadership with John is what truly defines The Henry Millers as a whole. John and Katie love to laugh, sing songs, and have staring contests. Philip Nuttle: bassist, originally from the eastern shore of Maryland. Phil brings his simple grooves to a whirlwind of synths and vocal harmonies. Phil loves to cook but only makes dishes with cilantro and cinnamon. JJ Lindenthal: keys , born and raised New Yorker. Classically trained. JJ brings a deep knowledge of theory into the songwriting process and live shows. He has a horrible gambling problem and can sometimes be seen at the OTB on Houston St. Daniel Kirschen: drums, hails from upstate New York. JJ keeps the band honest, focused and sexually active.
The Henry Millers have played gigs to packed crowds at The Brooklyn Bowl, The Studio at Webster Hall, Cameo, Pianos, and Bowery Electric...
