When we opened our little mom and pop record shop, we had NO idea it would be such a hit - people are dropping by every week to hang out, talk about music, and connect with fans, students, andother musicians. It's a thing! This week Brian Donohoe from PROGGER will be stopping by to sign CDs, talk about his path and share some solid wisdom with us all. Step over here to get the scoop, sign up for news from the Ropeadope Store, and leave your comments and requests. If you're in the Philly area, swing by and chill with us.

You can’t stop Progger

Now Dig This! Brian Donohoe and Progger have made a new record - with some new personnel and recording techniques and special guests Justin Stanton and Nate Werth. Recorded in Austin TX and Brooklyn NY, SCATTERING explores a diverse pallette of sound with a whole mess of jazz and even more rock. True to the twin city recording process, Progger hits Dallas tomorrow night for their first release show and then back to NYC for the second. Dig in right here and support these cats and their mountain of sound dubbed Funk-Jazz-Rock-Soul-Tronica. Check in over here for the gigs.

The best thing about talented jazz players is that they can play whatever the hell they want, and do it WELL. Exploration is not for the timid, and the seasoned cats in PROGGER prove that at every turn, making powerful and engaging modern music. Their next release - SCATTERING - is aptly titled and set for release here at Ropeadope on April 22. The band is best described by Ben Bohorquez of The Funky Knuckles - 'This band is full of eccentric personalities that combine in a cosmic clash of musical genius'.
