Going full tilt

We are thrilled to announce that the first of two releases from the legendary Jim Stephens and his Full Tilt Boogie Band is cued up and ready for prime time. ON OUR WAY TO FOREVER is a deep, soulful, yet positive and loving rendition of old school Gospel and R&B music. Featuring Winston Byrd, Chuck Treece, Kinyon Lanier and many more, this record feels like a group of (very talented) friends hanging in your living room, reflecting on love and life in the most real way possible - musically. The record hits on June 24, Preorder will be up soon. Check JSFTBB right here and get on that train from Philly to NOLA.

trio Subtonic

From Portland comes TRIO SUBTONIC - heavy, groove driven jazz funk described by the Portland Mercury as 'spiraling, gorgeously chaotic instrumentation'. A little feel of some of the Keyboard greats that have graced the Ropeadope roster, with a deep Morphine slash Velvet Underground tone - like a freight train rolling slowly through the city at night. Galen Clark leads the trio on keys, with Bill Athens on bass and Russ Kleiner on drums. This is the deepest and most expansive of power trios. The new record - FICTION - hits on June 17, your chance to support the preorder starts tomorrow. Stop by here and get with the Subtonic groove.

Catalano / Chamberlin / Sanborn

May 27 is the date for the release of the new Frank Catalano album - BYE BYE BLACKBIRD is a tribute to Frank's hometown heroes Von Freeman and Eddie Harris. Joined by his persistent collaborator Jimmy Chamberlin, Frank rounds out the band with the great David Sanborn, Demos Petropoulos, and guitarist Nir Felder. The pedigree and the chops are there, and Bye Bye Blackbird feels like the completion of a trilogy, following up LOVE SUPREME COLLECTIVE and GOD'S GONNA CUT YOU DOWN. Drop in right here to listen and preorder.

BriaMarie is a perfect representation of the EME mission: energetic, talented, and committed to positive human interaction to make a better world. Ethical Music

Spark and echo

Guitar hero MARK LETTIERI describes his third LP -“I wanted to make a statement, and in that respect it’s almost my first record...”. Aptly titled SPARK AND ECHO, the album brings Mark's powerful, finessed style to center stage with a heavy groove behind from the likes of Wes Stephenson and Jason Thomas, and special guests Shaun Martin, Milo Deering, and Bobby Sparks. Spark And Echo soothes and soars, with deep 80's rock influence that steps right into your living room without apology. An ode to several styles at once and still a clear representation of the musical narrative that only Mark can bring. Dig into Spark & Echo in hi-def right here, and if itunes is your thing head over here. Friday May 20 is the date.
